Shashi Karanam is a Senior Security Assurance Consultant at AWS, driving compliance enablement across multi-cloud architectures and multi-framework assurance programs — with a focused practice in post-quantum cryptography (PQC) migration strategy.

He brings over 15 years of experience in enterprise security maturity, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation — spanning commercial enterprise, federal, and DoD environments. His practitioner depth covers PCI DSS, SOC 2, NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP, FISMA, FIPS 140, and ISO 27001, with roots in cryptographic engineering and hardware security.

Before AWS, he led GRC strategy and PCI DSS compliance at Comcast, and prior to that, managed security product certifications across global vendors, evaluation labs, and government agencies.

A published author and conference speaker, Shashi has presented at PCI SSC, ICCC, ICMC, CMMC, and CertInfoSec. He holds an M.S. in Computer Engineering from George Mason University, the AWS Certified Solutions Architect, and PCIP credentials.
