Pete Albers is the Director, Global Business Development and Americas Partnerships for Google Play’s Retail & Payments Activation team. Managing key global partnerships with payment providers and the biggest physical and digital retailers across the Americas, Pete and his team work to make it easy for people to engage with and spend on their favorite apps and games. Before Google, Pete founded, launched, and ran technology startups (viagogo North America, Rebates.com), led sales teams and rebuilt business units (BEA Systems, acquired by Oracle), and helped launch an integrated health, agriculture, and economic development initiative in Malawi (Clinton-Hunter Development Initiative). Pete received an undergraduate degree from Harvard University (Economics), an MBA from London Business School, and rounded out his experience via stints as a minor league baseball player, a small-time teenage actor, and as a snack stand manager.
