Osvaldo joined Mercado Libre in 1999 as Country Manager for Argentina, a role he held until his promotion to Vice President in February 2004. Since then he has led Mercado Pago, building it into Latin America's leading fintech. Under his leadership, Mercado Pago has driven financial inclusion across the region, today serving over 80 million monthly active users while managing a credit portfolio of over $14 billion and more than $20 billion in assets under management. The majority of its $300 billion yearly TPV now comes from beyond Mercado Libre's marketplace, underscoring its strength as a standalone financial platform. Before Mercado Libre, Osvaldo worked as an Associate Consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton and in the fixed-income department at Santander Investment in New York. He earned his MBA from Stanford University and graduated as an Industrial Engineer from the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology.
