Deepfaked in the Interview: The New Cyber Threat in the Hiring Process

Biography

Max Brawer is the Head of Protective Intelligence at Coinbase, where he founded and leads the company's global security intelligence and investigations function.

His recent focus is one of the most overlooked problems in security today: workforce identity, the structural gap between what talent teams are measured on and what security teams defend. He stood up the workforce verification program that protects one of the world's most targeted financial institutions against a new class of threat, including fraudulent candidates, synthetic identities, and state-sponsored operatives who try to get hired rather than break in.

He came to security through intelligence and international affairs, building Coinbase's program from a single-person function into the team it is today. He is also the founder and CEO of Negentic Labs, where he builds generative geopolitical simulations that stress-test global risk scenarios.
