Biography
Since James Schenck became president and CEO in April 2014, PenFed has grown assets from $17.8 billion to over $31 billion and increased membership from 1.3 million to 2.9 million. During his over 20-year tenure serving in PenFed leadership, James led nearly every operating division, as well as PenFed Realty and the PenFed Foundation. James is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and Harvard Business School. During 13 years of service in the U.S. Army, James flew Black Hawk helicopters, taught economics and finance at West Point, and served as Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Army. During his assignment at the Pentagon, James received the Legion of Merit for his contribution to the Army.
