Hilary Packer leads the CTO organization at Amex, setting technical strategy, defining architecture principles, driving innovation, and overseeing digital workplace strategy and engineering. Under her leadership, the CTO organization promotes streamlined working methods and incubates new products. Hilary also leads Technology R&D and the company's Technology Strategy, including vision, goals, and external partnerships.

With over 20 years in financial services, Hilary was previously SVP of Amex’s Digital Experience Engineering group, developing seamless digital experiences and integrating external partners. She champions engineering culture and professional development, serving as head of the Technical Bar steering committee and executive sponsor of the Technical Career Path. She is also the Global Executive Sponsor of Amex’s Women in Technology network.

Hilary joined Amex in 2019 and has held executive roles at Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, and Deutsche Bank. She holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Carnegie Mellon University.
