Arunjay Katakam is a writer, speaker, entrepreneur, and advocate for open and inclusive financial systems. He is the author of The Power of Micro Money Transfers (2020), Generation Hope: How Inclusive Economics Can Help Us All Thrive (2024), and The Future of Finance Is Open: A Visionary Tale of the Great Convergence (2026).

A recovering wealth-chaser, he realized that wanting to be super rich made him part of the problem. In 2020 he founded the Inclusive Action Lab, a nonprofit incubator backing moonshot ideas to end poverty for the last billion people by 2030.

After leaving investment banking, Arunjay spent two decades in international development, including roles with the GSMA and the Gates Foundation, advancing inclusion through cross-border payments, digital public infrastructure, and open financial networks. He spent four years on the G20 Roadmap for cross-border payments and authored a 2022 United Nations paper proposing open, regulated global payments networks.
