As the Head of Analytics and Data Science at Marqeta, David Herberich, is responsible for strategic oversight and development of advanced analytics services and products for Marqeta’s payment platform. David brings over 10 years of experience building and leading global teams who drive organizational impact to Fortune 100 clients across industry verticals including retail, CPG, and financial services. Most notably, David founded and lead the price optimization group inside Sears Holdings. The group leveraged machine learning and large-scale experiments to forecast demand and optimize pricing resulting in significant revenue increases for the retailer. David received his Bachelor's degree in Quantitative Economics from Tufts University and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland.
