Fukuoka Prefecture Government is actively working with local companies to become an international financial hub that continuously generates innovation. This includes attracting Fintech and other new technologies companies, global talent and international financial institutions to Fukuoka and promoting their business development in Japan. Fukuoka, as a core city located in Kyushu, Japan’s westernmost region, enjoys good access to major Asian cities, and it has functions as the “Gateway between Asia”. With a growing population, Fukuoka is home to promising start-ups and growth industries, a concentration of research and educational institutions, and abundant human resources such as science and engineering university graduates and international students. Fukuoka also has advantages such as low risk from natural disasters and earthquakes in Japan. Fukuoka has also been designated as a “Special Zones for Financial & Asset Management Businesses” in Jun 2024 from Japan’s government. We are also working to attract asset management firms, financial institutions, and (highly skilled) financial talent.
