NYSE President Lynn Martin Announced as a Keynote Speaker for Money20/20 USA
New York - May 2, 2024 - Money20/20, the world’s leading fintech show, and the place where money does business, today unveils Lynn Martin, President of the New York Stock Exchange, as the first keynote speaker at Money20/20 USA held in Las Vegas at the Venetian Resort on Oct. 27-30, 2024.
Under the theme of ‘Human X Machine’, Money20/20 USA will explore the dynamic relationship between humans and intelligent machines, focusing on how the partnership between artificial and human intelligence will forge a new era in finance.
Lynn Martin is President of the world’s largest stock exchange by market capitalization and Chair of Intercontinental Exchange’s Fixed Income and Data Services business. Her keynote will explore the resurgent IPO market in the context of the overall economy. Martin will also draw on decades’ experience in markets and technology to discuss the state of IPOs in fintech and payments, key considerations in selecting when and where to IPO, and the coming impact of AI.
“The IPO market’s resurgence this year represents an important development for fintech companies and those in myriad industries looking to the NYSE to help them raise capital and change the world,” said Lynn Martin, President of the New York Stock Exchange. “I look forward to discussing this at Money20/20 as well as exploring the cutting-edge technologies that are both driving our economy forward and benefitting from the strength of our capital markets. There is much to talk about and I’m excited to engage with the CEOs, policymakers, and others who will convene at Money20/20 to explore the future of finance.”
Previous years’ speakers have included former Paypal President and CEO, Dan Schulman; Coinbase COO, Emilie Choi; SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce; CEO and Founder of Square, Jack Dorsey; and Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak.
Sessions at Money20/20 USA will revolve around five key topic areas. They are as follows:
- The Fintechonomic Cycle: Fintech has evolved and grown up. The upstarts that have long been considered disrupters could almost be considered incumbents. The great ‘unbundling’ of fintech apps has led to a ‘rebundling.’ We’ll take a look into where the sector is heading next.
- Fundamentally Positive: 2024 is looking good. Profitable models have overtaken the “grow at all costs” remit from fintech investors, the M&A boom has arrived, and the future looks increasingly tokenized. Where are your hopes springing up?
- Moving Money: The way money moves is changing. As policy becomes clearer, open banking will lead to a global financial tectonic shift. At the same time, the dollar may be losing its dominance, as other currencies are being utilized for trade and exchange. We’ll consider what these shifting dynamics mean for the future of fintech.
- Certainty in Uncertainty: We are living in an age of uncertainty. With fraud at an all-time high, criminals are operating at the same scale as the world’s most sophisticated fraud-fighting technologies. Artificial intelligence has also entered the fray. We’ll delve into how leaders are preparing their businesses amidst these changes and challenges.
- Informed Counterintuitivity: The industry is debating over the best way to use AI, the landscape is booming for upstarts, and there are even rumors about the death of consumer fintech. We want to hear your counterintuitive, contrarian perspective on all this “hotness.”
