CoreCard Software, Inc(CoreCard) was founded in 2001 by the leaders and principal software engineers from the former PaySys International research and development group. This team was involved in the development of CardPac®, Vision21® and VisionPlus® card management systems prior to First Data Corporation’s acquisition of PaySys. CoreCard retained ownership of the intellectual property resulting from the R&D group’s efforts to move VisionPlus® functionality from a COBOL-based environment to a modern technology platform. This group’s efforts led to the release of CoreCard’s family of full-featured card management, payment, and transaction processing products.
