Thayne Shaffer is the President and CEO of America First Credit Union since April, 2021. With 37 years at the organization and 41 years in the industry, Thayne has held many roles, including Controller, Risk Officer, Chief Information Officer, and Chief Financial Officer. Under his leadership, America First has grown to become the sixth largest credit union in the nation.

Thayne has fostered a culture of strong relationships, employee empowerment, and a steadfast commitment to cooperative principles, ensuring world-class service to America First’s 1.5 million members.

He is deeply committed to community service, volunteering on various boards and committees, and expanding the efforts of America First’s charitable foundation to improve the lives of thousands of local schoolchildren, military veterans, and families in need.

Thayne holds a Bachelor’s in Accounting from Weber State University and a Master of Accounting with an emphasis in Business Information Systems from Utah State University.
