Biography

Melissa Netram has 20+ years experience in financial services policy. Currently, she works for Block, Inc. as the Global Head of Policy and Strategic Development. From 2019-2021, Melissa was the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Chief Innovation Officer and Director of LabCFTC. Here, she worked to promote responsible innovation, particularly around digital assets. Melissa’s private sector work experience includes Intuit, focusing on global technology, cybersecurity, and fintech policy, the Financial Services Roundtable, where she worked on shaping the Dodd-Frank Act, and the McGraw-Hill Companies, where she represented Standard & Poor’s. Melissa began her career at the US Department of Treasury as a Presidential Management Intern (Presidential Management Fellow) working on terrorism risk insurance, the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act, and financial privacy notices. Melissa received a J.D. from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and a B.S.B.A. from Villanova University.
