Carlos Brandt is graduated in engineering and law, with postgraduate degrees in finance and law. Works for the Central Bank of Brazil as senior advisor for Pix, retail payments and financial market infrastructures.

Prior to that, led the design and implementation of Pix and was the head of Management and Operation for Pix and coordinator of Pix Forum between 2020 and 2024. In 2021 Carlos was nominated for the Bloomberg 50 list – recognizing people and ideas that defined global business in 2021 – which is acknowledgement of the remarkable achievements of Pix for the entire Central Bank of Brazil team.
