Ashwin Vasan was previously the Associate Director of Research, Monitoring and Regulations (RMR) at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

He led the agency’s recent efforts across a range of topics including open banking, overdraft reform, payments, auto lending, BNPL, credit cards and more.

Ashwin has spent a total of eight years at the CFPB across two administrations under four separate Directors and Acting Directors. Ashwin has also had an extensive career in financial services—at McKinsey, at Capital One, and as an independent advisor to fintechs and banks.
